Upon arrival in Hangzhou (preferably before 13:00 pm), your guide will pick you up to the Old Street District of Hangzhou to begin your exploration of the city’s rich and colorful folk culture. The tour starts at the Craft Exhibition Hall, a craft center where you can experience making items such as kites or oil-paper umbrellas while learning about Hangzhou’s folk art and culture (at your own expense).

Exiting the exhibition hall, you will board a cruise ship and cross the world’s longest and oldest Grand Canal to reach the Dadou Road Historic District. Strolling through the cobblestone streets of this revived residential area, you can discover exquisite buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, take a peek into the past at the majestic Xiangji Temple, museums and traditional craft exhibitions, or enjoy yourself in cafes, restaurants and gift shops.

At the end of the day, you will be transferred to your booked hotel for a free one-night stay.

After breakfast,you will take a leisurely cruise on West Lake on a gorgeous boat. Cruising the lake, you can fully appreciate the beauty of this artificial lake, which is designed in the tradition of Chinese gardens to create a poetic tranquility, the same scenery that is printed on the one-yuan banknote. The magical scenery of hills, willow trees, bridges and carefully arranged buildings is perfect for photography and artistic creation, especially at sunrise or sunset. Another way to capture its beauty is to visit this symbol of Hangzhou by bicycle (at your own expense).
Lunch is at your own arrangement. Your guide may recommend some authentic local cuisine.
In the afternoon, you will visit a tea garden to observe the tea growing process up close, and if it happens to be harvest season, you can even pick some tea leaves, so as to understand the entire cultural cycle of tea production. You can also participate in the tea making process and tea ceremony performance. The China National Tea Museum has a collection of various teas, tea sets and tea making machines, and you can learn more about the history and culture of Chinese tea.
After visiting Hangzhou, you will go to the scenic Wuzhen Water Town and the tranquil and charming Xizha Scenic Area. Check in to the booked hotel and enjoy a wonderful stay.

Tip: For those who don’t like boating, cycling is also another way to explore the beauty of West Lake. Your guide will recommend a tour for you to choose (at your own expense).

After breakfast, you will spend a wonderful day in the ancient Wuzhen Water Town. Walk along the ancient bluestone-paved streets and admire the preserved Ming and Qing architectural styles. Stop at classic workshops to see the traditional craftsmanship of making daily necessities such as sauces, cloth and silk. At Wuzhen Xizha Theater, listen to traditional stories in an ancient courtyard with wooden tables and chairs, lush vegetation and antique decorations. Another option is to take a boat tour of the canal (own expense) to enjoy the beautiful ancient town.
After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport or train station to your next destination.
