Embark on a journey of inspiration and delight – visit Chinese gardens that have inspired poets, philosophers and legendary figures throughout the ages, admire the engineering marvel of the Grand Canal and the ancient way of life of the villagers along the river.
Travel Itinerary
Your guide will meet you in the lobby (our guide will contact you in advance to confirm the pick-up time). After a short drive, you will be able to appreciate the artistic features and cultural value of the Master of the Nets Garden, an exquisite classical garden with beautifully laid out pavilions, rockery, corridors, bridges and ponds, all in breathtaking harmony. The history of the traditional dwellings dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty in 1174. The amazing scenery will make you pick up your camera to take pictures.
Take a wooden boat to visit the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal, which extends all the way to Beijing, and you will be able to enjoy the life scenes of local people, pass through quiet residential areas and bustling commercial areas, and admire the harmonious blend of ancient and modern buildings along the banks.
Lunch is not included, but your guide is always happy to provide you with suggestions.
When visiting Panmen, built in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 AD), you will have the opportunity to learn about this historical landmark and its importance in Suzhou’s defense system.
Take a rickshaw tour to Pingjiang Road, a well-preserved historical district that stretches along Pingjiang, taking you back to its origins during the Tang and Song dynasties. Wander through the alleys, ancient houses, rivers, and bridges of this historical district, and reflect on the lifestyle of the locals.
You will then return to your Suzhou hotel.

- Entering and exiting China from Hong Kong and Taipei are also available.
- Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) can be extended.

- The tour guide may adjust the itinerary due to closure of the museums each Monday.
- At the conclusion of the tour, a transfer from your hotel to Hongqiao or Pudong Airport in Shanghai is available upon request at a surcharge.
- Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) can be extended.
