Xinjiang is an autonomous region of China, located in the northwest border, known as China’s “Pearl” and “Jiangnan Hero”. Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural region with rich natural scenery and unique folk culture. Traveling to Xinjiang, you can visit natural landscapes such as the Tianshan Mountains, the Taklimakan Desert, and Kanas Lake, and feel the magnificence and mystery of nature. In addition, you can also visit historical and cultural attractions such as the ancient city of Kashgar, the famous Silk Road ruins, and the Kuche Grand Canyon to appreciate Xinjiang’s unique cultural heritage. During your trip to Xinjiang, you can also taste delicious hand-pulled rice, roasted whole lamb and other specialties, and experience a different style and flavor from the mainland. Xinjiang’s blue sky, white clouds, vast grasslands and unique ethnic culture will leave you with unforgettable travel memories.

Travel Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Urumqi airport , your dedicated tour guide will greet you outside the baggage claim area. During the transfer to your pre-booked four or five-star hotel in the city center, your guide will share insights about Urumqi’s rich history and key landmarks. The remainder of the day is yours to explore this fascinating city at your own pace.

Visit Tianchi Lake in the Tianshan Mountains. This alpine lake is 1,980 meters (6,500 feet) above sea level and offers picturesque scenery, including snow-capped peaks. A boat trip to Tianchi Lake is very enjoyable. Admire the magical colors reflected on the lake. After your mountain tour, drive north to Fuyun County.

Explore Keketuohai National Geopark. You will visit a beautiful canyon with granite mountains, colorful forests, and the turquoise Huertz River
Visit China’s largest mine pit. It was once a top-secret place in China and the “Jerusalem” of geologists. Explore the raw materials used to extract important minerals. Learn about the mine’s contribution to China in the 1960s. In the afternoon, drive to Burqin Town, the gateway to Kanas.

Go to Kanas Lake in the morning. View the beautiful lake from the fish pavilion. Then hike 8 km (5 miles) to enjoy the three beautiful bays of Kanas River without taking the tourist shuttle. Visit the wooden house of Tuvas people in Kanas Village, chat with them and learn about their daily life.

Drive from Kanas to Hemu Village and visit a small museum of Tuwa people in a wooden house. Pictures, traditional costumes, and daily necessities will show you the history and traditional lifestyle of Tuwa people. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the performance of the local Tuwa band. Hike 3 km (2 miles) along the Hemu River. The cattle may be wandering around. The children may be playing with the sheep in the courtyard in front of the wooden house.

In the early morning, mist filled the valley, and you can enjoy the fairy-tale-like beautiful Hemu Village. Then drive from Hemu to Burqin, stop at Wucai Beach, and enjoy the different scenery on both sides of the Huerz River, with lush vegetation on one side and the desert of Yadan landform on the other. Free time in the evening to visit the Russian-style Burqin town.

Drive from Burqin to Karamay, visit the “Ghost Town” on the way, which is the largest Yadan landform area in China, and feel the Siberian wind. The sound of “babies crying, women screaming, vendors hawking, ghosts roaring” when the wind blows through rocks and sand is the reason why the ghost town got its name. The oil field pumping unit on the way to Karamay will tell you that nature has endowed this land with wealth under desolation and loneliness.

End of a pleasant trip to Karamay, return with full of memories and wonderful experiences, you will be transferred to Urumqi airport to take a flight back home or to your next destination in China.

Visiting Keketuohai Park：
The lake and mountains complement each other, the lake is as clear as a mirror, surrounded by mountains, and the natural scenery is picturesque, allowing you to feel the magic and beauty of nature.
Walking along the Kanas Lake：
The lake is clear and the mountains are surrounded, the lake and mountains complement each other, mysterious and quiet, allowing you to immerse yourself in pure nature.
Stepping into Hemu Village：
The quaint village seems to be frozen in time, with white walls and black tiles dotted between green mountains and green waters, allowing you to feel the simple folk customs and experience the tranquility and beauty of rural life.
Go downstream and cross the Huerci River：
The clear water reflects the blue sky and white clouds. The scenery along the way is picturesque, allowing you to feel the freshness and vitality of nature.
Visit Karamay Ghost Town：
The ruins convey the sedimentation and mystery of history. The ruins of ancient buildings seem to be telling the legends of the past, allowing you to experience the flow of time and the review of history.
